With its inviting terrasse opening directly onto the central place of Quebec’s Carré des spectacles, the Il Teatro has been the renowned Capitol hotel’s flagship restaurant for numerous years. Following its complete renovation in 2018, this establishment now features a three storeys concept, complete with a preparation kitchen in the basement and an open kitchen on each level.
Centered around a spectacular staircase highlighted by wainscoting and a selection of modern chandeliers, the concept offers a contemporary atmosphere while preserving the soul and original charm of this patrimonial building. Thus, 20th and 21th centuries come together in a warm and opulent setting where wood and brick take center stage.
Their reddish hues create vibrant contrasts with the bottle green accent color used sparingly in seating fabric and small sections of wall ceramic. In a nod to the Capitol’s rich history, the walls are adorned with vintage photos and sections of red curtains, the ultimate symbol of the performing arts.
