Hotel Moco
Location: Valleyfield, Quebec, Canada — Photo Credit: Camdi
Located in what was once the Montreal Cotton Company’s manufacture, the MOCO hotel opens onto a view of the Saint-François Bay, in downtown Valleyfield. Showcasing the historical building’s architectural elements, the design combines red brick walls and concrete floors and pillars to create a resolutely industrial and contemporary look.
The sleek lines of furniture and decoration give the whole a sophisticated feel, while the vintage photos adorning the rooms and common areas celebrate the heritage of the largest Canadian cotton mill of the 20th century. Carpets and fabrics in patterns evocative of thread and weaving combine with wood to add warmth to these spaces full of history.
